Bushes press fitted fitted ok, but the rose joints at the outer end are knackered. I would think all TFs are getting to this stage, Petevick failed his MoT on this X-part complete arms are expensive and will have the same rubbish joints I'm hoping to fit "racing" rose joints and get a local machine shop to make me a HT steel LH/RH screwed adjuster to replace the OEM one. One good thing, the inside of the rear subframe is in good nick. Tomorrow it will get soaked in Waxoyl inside I'm surprised the tracking is holding up at the rear with all this slack. If/when I can get these parts machined up, it will need tracking as I'm moving onto the front suspension soon. I'm hoping to do all this as I will need 4 new tyres soon.

I've found some Vauxhall Vectra 95/02 model joints that seems to have the same rose joint in it's rear suspension. I've got 2 off e-bay coming to me to see if they are the same as the outer of the front, lower, rear, link. I'm just hoping it's a cheapo "generic" joint that MG-R used as well. If it fits, I'll get some more as only about £7 for 2, and there's 4 on the rear of a TF. If not, worth a punt

Been under the rear again, check that the poly bushes are relieved in their natural position before final tighten and painting. I checked my inner rose joint on the long, lower radius arms. They are fine, not worn at all. They are a different size to the short, lower link joints Anyway, I lifted up the seals and hyperdermiced some hypoid oil in both joints to keep them in the style they should be accustomed to ;D Off tommorow for an alignment check, but I'll have to do it again when/ if I can change the rear, lower radius arm rose joints .

Bum..... the Vectra bushes came today, two of the three dimensions were correct I'm thinking of using them, but having part of the link machined to make them fit as they are so much better made than the MG-R ones.

is it an MG camber gauge??? if so i must have one No ;D ;D, just a very ordinary magnetic clamp-on type which should give enough of a clue when setting up the new wishbones before I get it 4 wheel aligned again. I'm hoping to finish off the lower rear link outer with rose joints so I can get it all done at the same time

Funny thing happened today ;D The post came with stainless M12 repair washers, and a universal set of urethane bushes from Demon Tweaks. Just as I was opening it all up, the phone rang and it was Ian from Polybush. He had been to MGFC yesterday to see Bill about the same suspension joint which I'm having trouble with, and the bits in my hand were going to try and fix it. After a long chat with Ian, we decided on a plan of action. I'm going to my friend's, who has a hydraulic press, to separate the bush from the suspension arm. I've already Polybushed the inner end. Ian wants me to post the bits up to him in Wrexham and he will try and design a complex replacement urethane bush for the OEM rose joint. I've given him a good idea how to do it , and he'll send the bits back with a prototype foc for me to fiddle with and fit. When we're happy the bugs have been ironed out, he'll make them for general sale. I'm also working with him on the inner rear radius arm bushes, and the trailing arm/hub fastenings. After next weekend I'll be replacing my new front polybushed wishbones to correct my camber problem. Phew, it'll be the first in the UK with a complete urethane bush set ;D BTW, Polybush is generic name like Hoover, Biro etc. Polybush is in Wrexham and been around for some time, and loads of lookalikes have sprung up all calling themselves polybushes

Polybush have had a basic set out since last June. I've got the first in the UK of their current set, and we're still working on 3 more for the rear suspension, 2 of these are probably not possible to Polybush for the average punter. I'm waiting for the guy at Polybush to come back from hols on Monday to chat through what I've done so far, but I'm now thinking of going to full greaseable roller rose joints for both short and long lower rear links. I would estimate that all TF s would fail their Mot if these bushes were tested properly. Mine passed last month although I had about 1mm of wear in all these bushes
