WET ONE ;D Up at 04.30, bomb up there, warm all day in the car until about 14.30, when an RS Escort went into a spin by me, watched the marshalls trying to stop it sliding back into a stream. I jumped out, ran over and skidded onto my bum for about 10-15 ft into the stream. No waterproofs on, boots full of water, bum full of mud, and then I was in the middle pushing behind the central exhaust. Talk about great balls of fire ;D ;D ;D Then a military squad crept up behind me in the car and asked the up to date progress of the rally from the radio. They had been skiving in the woods behind us - all armed with live stuff. Changed my clothes in the wood, on with the heater, and warm as toast. Rain was horrendus that side of the Beacons, roads flooded from field overflow, cars stranded, roads blocked. The last stage of the rally was called off due to weather Love it

'BOB' passed her MOT today - woo hooo Just thought I should mention it. New tyres going on very very soon - 195 MUD tyres, and then ripping the front bumper off = greater approach angle!!!!!!! Not very 'F' I know - but i'm well chuffed after all the work gone into her in the last couple of weeks.

Broke a spring leaf at the weekend. It was a small "helper" at the front. Bit annoyed, as it was a special British set, lifted by 1". Fortunately, I used my old set of springs, and replaced the boken bit on both sides of the front with a Jap one. Looks ok, same lift, hopefully back to normal. MoT test next week - good job you can fix these cars with a hammer ;D

Been away for several days, back at 11.30 last night. Been in a tent on the top of Radnor Forest , part of the organisation of a 4x4 motorsport event. Long days, little sleep, wind, rain, deep mud, chainsaws, winches, whinging competitors, aching muscles, trashed car Nearly lost the will to live, but I pulled through when I made an executive decision last night, stuffed everything in the back of the car and made for home. Half hour kip on the Brecon bypass, and Di pulled me through with a welcoming glass of chilled white wine Not like being in a warm TF

Still a bit poorly after last week's bashing, but ok for the Red Dragon Rally on Saturday. Then it's in the garage, and get the MG ready for blast off Tuesday.
