I'm still on original everything, body rust free ;D Jap cr@p, not Spanish cr@p ;D PS, only thing not original is the engine. Swopped for a Swift GTI block. Balanced steel crank/piston assy Same head, but flowed and polished, SU carb and Janspeed exhaust. No problems with HGF as liners cast in and nice area of block for the head to seal against, even in [glow=red,2,300]FOG[/glow].

Bad news yesterday on the Wyedean Rally. A driver was killed after his car went off and landed on it's roof. Everything went a bit quiet, but the stages continued. Very subdued mood at the finish at Chepstow Racecourse. Sad day.

On a positive note though Jerry, over the years the number of deaths or injuries per rally mile is far, far lower than that on the public highway. (I think the last death was Michael Park in 2005?). I've got the stats somewhere - just need to dig them out.
My sympathies are with the driver's family.

Off to the 4x4 Indoor Show at Donnington tomorrow, Stoneleigh next week - where will it end Going in the TF, as the noise in the SJ at 70mph + is very whiney ( M&S tyres and transfer box noise - little sound proofing), picking up some stuff, visiting relatives on the way back and "networking" with the 4x4 motor sport peeps. And yes Mike, it has shown 95 mph on the speedo and still going

Good day out. Bought a disc handbrake conversion, a new winch hand held remote, and a 2.4 GHz wireless colour camera system cheap. The journey home back near the M6 toll/A38 back onto the M42 was a ride from hell. 2.5 hours up there - 4 hours back PS, had a bad stone chip from where we parked from a passing car, and hit a speed bump hard in the village we were visiting at 20 mph. Out with the hammer, file and paint

Must be an impressive off-roader in that case! ;D ;D ;D I'm modestly proud of it after 13 years of development. It has proved itself in my off-road mororsport activities, amongst much p*** taking from officials and competitors alike ;D ;D If you can't have fun in a TF, you can always race around in mud

Started taking my transmission drum handbrake off today to fit the new disc set-up. Gasp - shock - horror The prop shaft flange I had lined up has the wrong dimensions. Either I turn it down, get another one from a scrappy, buy a new one on spec, have a tantrum And the new cable is too big, so I'm working on adapting the old cable to fit Arrrrrgh
