Last April Lesley & I organised a Sunday run over the Black Mountains and around Llin Briane reservoir, including the Devils Staircase, with a late Sunday lunch in Llandovery, followed by a return over the Black Mountains (different road).
We met at Glynneath and drove the A4069 from Brynamman - used frequently by Top Gear - we saw lots of supercars giving it some beans, that day..
It was suggested that we do the run again, but by reverse route. We were thinking about 10th April (we cannot do the other weekends in April).
If you're interested please let us know and we'll start planning. Last year we had to book a table at the pub so we'll need confirmed numbers.

*!#$*!$#!!!! Ken so wanted to do that run - if I remember rightly he was one that asked if it could be done in reverse but we have booked to do a classic car run that day. Only sent it off at the weekend too ??

Missed this run last time and it sounded like a good run so I don't want to miss it again.

This is a definite. Stavros has changed shifts to be there. It's the only Sunday we can do in April. Oz is coming along. I've invited new guy ModF too.
So please put it on Facebook. I suppose at some point I'm going to have to relent and sign up for the Facebook group, we've given in with the Imp group.
As requested it will be a reverse of last year's route, starting and ending in Glynneath. Of course people can join along the route etc. Lunch will probably be at the Kings Head in Llandovery. The basic route is outlined in my post welcoming ModF in the newby section.
One of the guys on the Run Out West in Oct wanted to know about this run so I will email him, he doesn't come on this forum. The more the merrier!
Be good to see you on the run everyone.

Should be up for this one Phil, as long as the TF is going well. A week after the Hellfire pass run the slave cylinder gave up the ghost! Not to early meet up I hope!

I don't think Andy will make this as he'll be between night shifts, I can't commit to it just yet either I'm afraid but fingers crossed I'll make it as it sounds like a great run. Phil can you give me an idea of meet/finish times please so I can add it to Facebook. Thanks

Hi Jan
I haven't really thought too much about timings yet, however last year's run started from a pub in Glynneath at 10:00. Timings allowed us to get to the Kings Head in Llandovery 14:00 - the driving included a coffee stop of 30mins or so. We did arrive on Llandovery early. I think it'll be very similar.
I'm out of the country with work for all of this week, returning into Birmingham to go to the NEC Practical Classics Restoration Show - Lesley's Imp is on the Imp Club Stand. I'll look at the timings seriously after that.

You are welcome to join us at any point, it's all pretty relaxed. We'll work out timings nearer to the day. We need to find a coffee stop with parking before we leave Llanwrtyd so your local knowledge may be a help. Phil Hello again. I think I have found a good spot on the edge of Llanwrtyd for a coffee stop. Just on way out on the road to Builth there is an old Woolen Mill / Museum and Tea Rooms. It has a large parking space which is right off the road (on a bend but great visibility each way.) I visited it this afternoon but it looked rather closed down, although the parking lot was accessible and some signs that someone is keeping the grounds a bit tidy. Attached some pictures of the lot. I asked in the Tourist Info center in town itself and was told that the tea rooms etc being staffed is very "hit and miss". If it were running or I knew it to be in advance I am sure they might welcome some passing trade, or if not the parking area is still public so thermoses and jam sandwiches can come along too. It would make a good spot to pull up for half an hour or so I think.

I'm up for this if maybe hooking on somewhere in the Dyfynnog/Sennybridge area and coming with around back to Llandovery (where I live). I have option then of following on as far as say Brynamman or nearby before turning back to home. I posted some info re a coffee stop location on the edge of Llanwrtyd Wells over in my "new peoples" thread. I can repost the info here if needs be. I hope to have gotten my F through its MOT start of April and having a wash and wax-oil treatment underneath plus all the usual checks so it should be ready to go for sure.

PS as I live in Llandovery would be happy to make arrangements for the table booking etc in time as I kind of know some of the staff.

Looks like a great park with plenty of space. i wonder if they might open 'by appointment' if they knew a group were calling in? (I moved your post into this thread, hope you don't mind but thought it better to keep it in the same place as where the run was being organised
