My TF160 now has new master & slave cylinder fitted. What a difference! Much more pleasant to drive & I can select reverse with no problem! Put me down for the run.

Don't mind at all, makes best sense. RE the place opening by an appointment, might be possible if knew who or how to ask. Impressions I get from asking around is "nobody knows ~" who owns it now. There seem to be a couple private residences adjoining the parking area but as long as nobody's access was restricted by a dozen or so smallish cars I can't see any reason not to stop there.
As for the drive itself I might hook on at or near Defynnog / Sennybridge and come back around to Llandovery with the route and jump off there after lunch. If it's a really good day and I feel like it I might follow on over the black mountain to Brynaman then back.
Car is booked in for MOT and wax-oil and various small details for the 23rd March so hopefully it will be all good by the 10th April.

To Roger: What differences has it made? Easier shifting? (Making a list of things that will cost me money on mine eventually )

After having new master & slave cylinder, I can say that the clutch action & gear selection is greatly improved - even reverse is no problem. Put me down as definite for the run please.

Hi ..
Looks like a nice place to stop if they are indeed still trading. Now that my overseas trip is out of the way and other issues have eased I'll put some effort into the route and timing.
ModF - I emailed the manager of the Kings Head last year and it all worked well but happy for you to call in and book provisional numbers etc once we have some timings and some indications as to who is coming along. Do any of your friends know anything about the woollen mill? I've found a website for the Cambrian Mill just outside Llanwrtyd, so assume it's the same.. No mention of team rooms or opening times. I'll try and call them.
If you have any other ideas for a coffee stop please let us know. We can put it to the others whether they fancy taking a Thermos etc (not done that since we've been joining runs).

Hi, Phil. Just let me know how many seats you think we will need, plus a rough timing slot, when numbers are available. I can certainly go in and speak to someone about booking it. The local Council have in their benevolence made Sunday a day you also have to pay to park in the main town car park, I don't think this was the case this time last year, so that might be worth noting. Yep that is the same mill/museum I believe. Still not had any info from anyone regarding them being open in more tourist/holiday seasons. I would suggest bring a thermos or soft drinks and snacks in case. That way all bases covered. I don't know for any other convenient spots to park a dozen or so cars in the area though. Did a bit of a scout around the Abergwesyn part of route a week ago also. This should be interesting. See pics

Thanks for the offer re popping in to the Kings Head... I reckon we're looking at a 13:30 or 14:00 lunch time. Since you offered, could you pop in and sort a booking? 14:00 may be better for them - I can adjust our start/run times etc from then. I'd say ask them to reserve for 15 people at the moment and we can update in the week before and get better numbers on the Sat - we'll try to get commitment from people in that week (unlikely to get much apart from the usual suspects before that).
On internet/Facebook I found a Café/Coffee shop in Llanwrtyd.. and that looks promising for a mid run stop.
Thanks for the help
Jan
Is there any interest on Facebook?

Is there any interest on Facebook? Hi Phil There's possibly 5 cars/10 or so people who've expressed an interest on FB, a couple have requested details of the meet point for Glynneath and another couple have asked if they can join at Sennybridge so if you could work out and post meet points and approx times, I can pass those on.

Phil
I'll call in on my way home from work tomorrow morning (Monday, though with holiday openings they might not be open) or Tuesday and make provisional booking. I'll suggest a 2pm sitting as even if we are early we can kill a little time. Will also say numbers are in the mid teens to 20 bums on seats just to see if they got any issues the sooner we know the better. I'll make a booking in my name if that helps, and if you need to contact them to make adjustments just say it is in the name of Faulkner.
I'm thinking of tagging on in the Deffynog area, I may scoot a bit further up the road to a nice big lay-by before the Top of the Pass down to Craig Y Nos. I'll see the cars coming from there and can pull in behind (baring traffics). Not sure if I will have a passenger or not, even I do it won't effect the booking at King's Head.
All we need now is for the Weather to be fine so the tops can be down and stuff!

Also there is road resurfacing work taking place on the A40 between Sennybridge and Trecastle. This may be completed by the 10th, and if so a nice smooth road around some fun bends.

Made provisional booking at The King's Head in Llandovery for 15-20 seats, 2pm on Sunday 10th April. Is in my name, so if needed I can update the details with them.

Just back from a weekend away. It sounds like we may have a decent sized group.. that's really good news.
ModF - thanks for sorting the booking at the King's Head. 14:00 should suit them too as the early birds will be finishing by then. I'll firm up the coffee stop this week, and check out the route timings - I have an initial plan.
We can stop at the Craig Y Nos car park for you say hello before we move on. I'll factor that into the timing -maybe another photo opportunity.
After the weekend we can start asking people to commit.

Craig Y Nos Car park would be pretty good. Look forward to the timings so I can make sure to be there on time My F is still in garage for the works right now, fingers crossed for getting it back soon, and for good weather week Sunday.

OK folks.. I have firmed up the timings, and sorted the coffee stop. We need to let them know some numbers on the Friday before so that they make sure they have a selection of cakes. I suggest we meet at the Lamb & Flag pub in Glynneath at 10:15 - Sunday 10 April The Lamb & Flag postcode is SA11 5EP & on Google Maps Anyone know how to add the date to the thread heading? If not I'll start a new thread.. Jan - can you post on Facebook please? So who is coming? ModF - if the F is still off the road come along in what ever you can, we've taken Lesley's BMW on other runs.. Craig y Nos car park soon after 10:30. We'll start the list - please add your names.. Phil & Lesley Phil
