Very good , just remember what happened to the TF when you tried that LOL I did think of that jerry and it did send a shiver down my spine but you would have to be pretty thick to intentionally open the soft top at 80+ MPH I think 20/30 max will be OK, but I cant see me using it other than when waiting at traffic lights, as if they change half way through dropping the roof, you wont be in the embarrassing position of having to hold up all the traffic until you have finished putting up or dropping the roof. Hi all. Been a while since I updated this thread so here goes. I've changed all the boot lights and my interior light for LED's, I've also replaced the fog lights for LED ones, they are allot brighter than the original ones, but they dont give out as much light onto the road, not that the standard ones did in the first place, I've never had a car that the fog lights were any good in the fog anyway, imo they are more of a cosmetic option on car now, I remember the big yellow spot light type, now they did light up the road in the fog, BS

Hi All. the latest Mod 50% done today see what you think. Before :- After :- Did try a Red caliper but I thought the yellow was much better, I used Hi-Temp caliper paint and got the Porsche de-cals off eBay, Took some close ups as I was working on them today, will have to get on and do the front ones today while the sun is out.

Hi all. Just thought I'd keep you up to date on my latest Mod, found it on a Porsche forum I'd never used before (God thats two I'm on now ) but still not a patch on SWMGF, anyway back to the modification, on the newer 987 model Boxsters they have built in the option to be able to retract or put up the soft top while on the move, governed to approx 25 MPH, well on my model 986 there wasn't that option, However having found this thread about "soft tops" one of the post pointed out where to find a particular relay block on top of the fuse box, and if you bent over one of the many pins, number 18 to be precise, it would enable you to retracted or put up the soft top the same as the 987's, this was a brilliant find not only because it allows you to do this action at any speed, not advisable above 30ish MPH, but Porsche are selling the relay magic box to do this action at around £300 as an upgrade for the 986's, it only took me 30-45 seconds to get the relay out and bend the pin "job done" the only thing different is you have to take up the first click on the handbrake to illuminate the handbrake light on the dash board, that fools the computer into thinking the car is stationary, and allows the mechanism to carry out the actions, good or what. Guvs PS tried it on the way to work tonight coming out of my estate brilliant. The latest on this Mod is if you want to go one step further on the relay box there is another pin (number 15) that if you open the relay box up and solder a thin piece to wire from that pin to another pin (number 20) it will earth it out and now you don't have to even pull the handbrake up one click when putting down the top whilst on the move, done!! also I sent away to America for a one touch switch so I don't have to keep my finger on the button throughout the complete operation of putting the roof down or up now I find I'm dropping the hood a lot more now I have the "Robo top" (one touch switch) Mod, it's so easy and convenient , I drop the hood on the way out of my estate for a while until I'm about to reach the Dual carriageway and just flick the button so top up before getting onto it and putting my foot down, at the end of the Dual Carriageway while slowing down for the roundabout to the town center/bypass again one touch and down it comes again, and so on a few more times until I get to my final destination, will have to make sure I oil/grease the hood mechanism a lot more now due to more usage Guvs.

The things you find to do on a 12hr night shift how about this Dave just click on photo and wait. my magic relay, might not mean much to anyone butyou wont see many other 986's able to do that action, looks smart when your on the move Guvs.

No Dave This is the ejector seat button the red one that you mustn't touch Seriously this button is the latest Mod, you know I've said the spoiler comes up automatically at 75 mph, well thats fine when your doing 75+, overtaking, or on the slip road joining a motorway/dual carriageway, but it starts to get a bit embarrassing once you've slowed down again, so what this button allows you to do is retract the spoiler manually before it automatically comes down at 50 mph, there's nothing worse than plodding along at say 60 mph with the "go faster spoiler" up and a boy racer in his souped up vauxhall corsa flat out going passed you, and him expecting you to race him

I didn't think there was much more I could do but as I'm a bit of a short A*S, when I'm reversing I can't see the back end, so thought revers sensor are the answer, the thing was I didn't wont the 4 ugly wart type sensors on the smooth round curves of the back end of the Boxster, then having to get them colour matched , heard about the strip ones you place behind the bumper, not heard any good reports on them, but found this on the internet. it's a gloss Black strip with 3 sensors in it, I thought it goes well with the Black theme I've got going on at the rear of the Car and they work well to boot, result. Guvs. Just realised thats not a very good photo of the sensor, so in good old fashioned Blue Peter style here's one I made earlier.
