Hi all.
just thought I'd write a quick thread and let you know whats been happening with me and the Boxster lately not sure if anyone is interested, but here goes,
To start with the forum I've found isn't a patch on SWMGF forum, I dont think I'll ever feel at home on the Boxster site, however they are very good on the technical tips and information and have been a big help already, what do you think Dave, they even talked me through how to use the photo bucket site, watch
Good or what !! I know easy when you know how the first thing I've had done to the car is my number plate, Guvs was my nick name when I was in school and then it carried on for my 23 years in the forces, it was only when I came out to civvy street that I got civilised again and people started calling me Steve, so it was a lovely surprise when Anne told me that her and my Daughter had got this plate for me,
The small writing underneath says "you only live once !" cant wait to go to my next Army reunion in March now, it's up in Wrexham, they'll think Ive won the lottery, but I think I'd have a Ferrari if I did.
Well I've put LED's in place of the normal side lights, they look good day or night, but I still preferred the LED day running lights I had on the TF, might see if I can get some that are suitable for the Boxster, I see they have them on the newer models, and as of 2011 all new cars are going to have them fitted as standard, I've also put HID's in place of the dipped head lights, believe it or not the 1st photo is of the side light, and the 2nd photo is of the dipped beam, the side light isn't that bright just very white.
Never had a spoiler on the TF, always fancied one but never got around to getting one, I like the Boxster it has a very discrete tucked away one
Only until you get to 75mph then it pops up as if to say "well I'm off now" I've still got the biker in me and I dont expect to leave many of them in my wake, but I've put a little foot note for them to see while they are passing me.
For those none bikers out there "46" is Valentino Rossie's bike racing number, he's the Schumacher of the bike world, the best on two wheels.
I have ordered a set of rear light clusters and the 3rd brake light, in dark black smoked, should get them tomorrow, in the mean time (12hr night shift ) I've done a computer air brush effect, but I'm sure they will look a lot better than my attempt at colouring them in on the computer but you get the idea, I will post some tidy photos when I get them fitted.
That's all for now I have a few more mods but I have to slow down this side of Christmas, or the grand kids wont have any presents to open off me come Xmas day one in the pipe line is yellow brake calipers
