A friend of mine died last weekend on Salisbury Plain involving several end over end rolls. He sustained severe neck injuries and died the following day after a seven hour unsuccessful operation. We're all in shock and I'm going to the funeral this coming Friday. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wiltshire/8575029.stm

Off tomorrow with Jerry. First round of the MSA Cross Country Championship. 7 1/2 miles of off road heaven. Staying at the Blue Bell in Llangurig and traveling to Myherin for early start. Treacle Pudding and custard and some good real ale. Lovely

A spaceframe 4x4 with a Millington Cosworth engine - very light and fragile. He normally breaks a suspension part, but this time the ground was soft and he was lucky.
You should have seen him airborne - might be on Top Gear this week with Richard Hammond.
I'll put a link up for some more vids, apart the others you can see on the link above.

Jerry, to put into perspective, what top speed would be reached on that clip?

On that sort of ground, possibly about 80/90 max. If you were in the car, it would feel like 180 mph Having said that, I went out with Alister McRae, but I was too busy reading the road book and shouting instructions to worry about the speed ;D It's when the car steamed up after fording some water, I dropped the road book in fright, and he said "drive me" and didn't slow up - driving flat out blind

Going back there this weekend: worth another looks as he's leading the championship so far.
