Phew, just finished the last of six rounds at the weekend.
Now loads of paid testing leading up to WRGB in a few weeks time ;D.
Then, if I can get the SJ back in the garage, some tlc on the paintwork, re set the rear diff, take the cylinder head off, new valve stem seals, rockers, polish head and ports etc ready for a few stage rallies. Rebuilt the engine in 2004 based on an imported Jap emmission failure Swift GTI block with steel balanced crank/piston assys. Sounds and feels good as new, probably skim the head for a bit more power as it was designed to run a low compression ratio on poor fuel.

Now loads of paid testing leading up to the Welsh Treasure Hunt in a few weeks time ;D. Edited for accuracy Jerry Fortunately, we'll be sunning ourselves in Egypt at the time Seriously - hope it's a good one and goes well for you. Having looked at the route and stages this year I do have to admit that it does seem to be an improvement over previous years. If it continues that way, it might even get me back to the forests . That said, the fact that they seem to think they can and should charge for tickets for the privilege.......

Takings this year are down already due to the cost of speccies covering a strung out course. Next year I'm told it will be back around the S Wales area.

After three days hammering around a gravel stage on Thur/Fri/Sat, I've broken the handbrake bracket on the floor, and lost a NSR damper which is leaking fluid and letting the axle onto the bump stops. At one point I had the old girl at 95 mph on downhill gravel The American dampers I got in 1999 are NLA in the UK, so I've ordered some variable AVO dampers - 4 week delivery to be made to order The I've got to start on the list above ....................

Handbrake bracket replaced from the "spare" car in the back garden, new Suzuki dampers flown in from Japan and fitted already. The LR alternator had squealy bearings, but a place in Bridgend replaced them for £37.75, so I'm looking good for WRC Mini testing next week with Danni Sordo and Kris Meekes, both arriving my helicopter The week after it's WRGB - two nights in the car and hopefully snatching a treacle pudding or two when we're passing
