I can't help myself really, having done the hood I wanted a new challenge and have ordered a bunch of LEDs to convert the dash lighting to blue. And I've ordered some strip LED's to make the puddle lights. Have read through the Car called bob site, and the how to over on the MGR forums. I just wondered if anyone else had done this and if they had come across any problems. The heater controls look a pain to do, so I might plump for some of these if I like the blue when I fit the LEDs.. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291064817815?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648

I had blue leds put in all my switches and heater panel, clocks etc a few years back but ended up taking it all back out as I didn't like how bright they were compared to normal bulbs. I love how they look, I just didn't like the brightness. I think it repends on resistors as to how bright they are? I'm not really sure though.. My partner has those plasma dials in his TF, but they were already fitted when he bought it. I quite fancy these metal monkey dials myself, but in black - www.metal-monkey.co.uk/acatalog/Rover_MG_TF.html

I did think about getting the black LE500 dials and doing that conversion, but something is drawing me to the plasma ones, going to get plasma dials for the oil temp and clock too eventually. Like these.. www.ebay.com/itm/290927205143

I like those I had black LE style dash dials for a while too but didn't like the unlit needles as it was really hard to see them in the dark. Every time I reply to posts it makes me realise how much I've done and then undone over the years!!

So have you taken it all back to standard now then? I did see some LED lit needles on ebay when looking at the options.

Yeah my dials are all standard again now, apart from alloy rings around the speedo, petrol gauge etc.
The led needles would be interesting, could open up a few other options. Do you have a link to them handy?

Looking at the plasma dials, and the way they work, it may be worth me getting these glowing needles so that I can see them in the dark. What are your partners like Jan?

Pretty bad from what I can remember, I've not driven it in the dark for ages! I'll try and remember tomorrow and get a couple of pics of them

I really like the look of those led needles, they'd work really well so long as they fit. This is the problem I had with mine with black dials and standard needles - they disappeared!

Yeah, those black dials look like they really need some additional illumination. I've changed the bulbs in the footwells and the rear view mirror today, can't really tell any difference yet, but will have a look again later when it's dark, maybe post some photos.

I took some photo's but they are pretty rubbish, the LEDs looks good though and the cabin has a nice blue glow.

Bugger, I've not done pics of Andy's plasma dials yet. Will try and get some when I remember!
