Rather than spending an absolute fortune on a respray and sorting out a few long-standing handling issues with my TF, I decided it was going to be more cost effective to buy another newer one. Thing is though, I love how my car looks... so I bought an identical one! Well it's not quite identical yet, but it will be when I've swapped all my bits over onto it

I'm starting to regret not taking the 'easy' option of the respray now.. 4 weekends later and I've not got very far. Wheel arches have had the beginnings of rust removed and repainted, and I've finally managed to remove both rear calipers after much penetrating oil, swearing and time.
After spending most of yesterday trying (and failing) to remove the bolt from the handbrake mech on the caliper, I admitted defeat at trying to refurb the calipers myself and have ordered a pair from ebay. At least they'll be here by the weekend so I can get them fitted on Saturday and maybe, just maybe, move the car and start looking for the cabin leak. Not sure yet if it's leaky windows, air intake or aircon, but without being able to move the car for the last month I've not been able to move that forward other than stripping the interior in readiness and removing the carpet for drying.

Calipers fitted and car moved.. felt like a real achievement being able to look at the other end of it from the garage door lol.
Didn't get as far as leak checking, but have looked at the aircon pipe in the footwell and that seems to be connected properly, so next to look at is the air intake - that's the first job for this coming weekend.

3 months later and I've come to a deciosion.. the newer TF is getting sold. I've been faffing around it with on and off for months now, but I realise that it's not what I want anymore I'm going to sell it, carry on driving the rust bucket until something catastrophically expensive happens to it whilst keeping an eye out for a different colour TF So, if any of you know anyone looking for a Sunspot TF - send 'em my way!

A monogram Spectre on Autotrader, not far away. You'll have to curb you're horsepower urges though as it's a 135 !

Haha it has to be a 160 for me - but I've got to stop looking else I know that illusive Typhoon that I'd love will come up, but I've most definitely proved to myself that I'm very attached to the rust bucket! It's got a few things to be sorted on it, but the longer term plan is back to restoring it to its original glory now First things first, it's pulled left quite violently for a couple of years now and I've tried having the alignment done on it 3 times, tyres have been swapped, EPAS fuse has been removed and I can't remember what else I've tried now.. But it's booked in next week at the Accident Repair Centre in Pontypool for them to get it on a jig and check the geometry properly and see where I go from there.

Car dropped off this morning for investigations, really hope they can find out what's wrong with it. Now I've committed to keeping it, I just want it sorted!

Well, they've found something not quite right - they just don't know what yet! They've done a minor adjustment on the alignment, but it's not cured the problem (I did tell them that.. I've had it checked 3 times already). They're keeping it for another day to start with to see if they can identify the problem.
I'll post back when I have more news.
