Hi All, We'll be meeting at the Three Arches, Heathwood Road, Heath, Cardiff, CF14 4HS at 10.30am. Tea/Coffee and bacon rolls available, we hope to be away by 11.15am. The run will be around 130 miles and it's a scenic route, with a coffee stop and a pub lunch (lunch venue tbc). We'll be taking in parts of the South Wales valleys with some great views from the Rhigos Road and across the Bwlch, before heading down to the lovely Vale of Glamorgan coastline, with a beautiful photo opportunity. So the rough outline of the route is: Out of Cardiff and over Caerphilly Mountain Up to Aberdare and across to Hirwaun Down the Rhigos Road and across the Bwlch Get around Bridgend somehow - we have kind of worked this out! On to Ogmore by Sea Around the coast to a lunch spot A bit of a scenic tour around the Vale Finishing Sully/Penarth area Full directions will be handed out on the day, if you would like them in advance please give Verity (vcardiff@yahoo.co.uk) or Crispin (me) a shout. Also, we need to know approximate numbers for the meet point and also for lunch so if you're planning on joining us, and we hope you do, please let us know. Please note that this event is not a rally, race, or a timed event of any kind but a gentle scenic run and we ask that you show due consideration to other road users etc etc.

I should be able to make this one - but I will be on my own as Ken is gallivanting off to the States for work.

Hood is repaired. We're coming along, looking forward to taking it easy in the pack instead of being out front.
So how many others have declared attendance?

Looks like about 9 cars declared so far. I will admit that it's actually bloody difficult to organise a run so fair play to those who have done it before. Had I known now how amazing the effect of gin can be at a Christmas party...
Anyway we will have a great day for those able to make it. We have done the route and it is really, really good. Well we think so anyway, and any navigational errors will be mine and mine alone. :-)

We are all set for what we hope will be a good run on Sunday. For those of you coming from the east of Cardiff, there is a planned road closure at Rhydypenau Crossroads which is very close to the meeting point.
There will be signposted diversions however if you don't know Cardiff that well, if you are heading in on the A48, you may be better off carrying on to Gabalfa interchange and follow signs for Caerphilly, turning right at the Birchgrove pub and heading along Heathwood Road to the Three Arches, Post Code CF14 4HS.
If you get stuck then give me a call on 07748864775 so I can laugh at you before providing some help!
We are looking forward to seeing you there!

I can meet you at the end - I won't be in my TF, but in my Suzuki. I've got the front end off the TF doing some housework, passed it's DoT test two weeks ago - no problem.
If the end is a secret, please pm me as I only live in Dinas Powys - possibly big cliff top car park on Penarth front?

I don't think it's a particularly huge secret but lest I get into trouble with the boss will pm you!

Thanks everyone, it seemed to go well and Verity and I were really pleased, if not relieved, to get to the finish. Great to see a good turnout as well so thanks for supporting it.
