There's been no one on Facebook posted about coming along on the run as yet, maybe folks are waiting to see what the weather has instore for the weekend.
I'm not sure if Andy and I will make it yet, if we're there at 1pm then we're coming - and if we're not, don't wait for us.
I think the confirmed list for the run at the moment is as follows..
Phil & Lesley Oz & Lou Stavros & Elaine Andrew & Cherie

It's probably too late to organise a Secret Santa , will we be doing a raffle with everybody contributing a prize?

It's probably too late to organise a Secret Santa , will we be doing a raffle with everybody contributing a prize? Thanks for the reminder, it would be great if folks do have some raffle prizes to bring along. I've got some bits as well which I'll wrap up and also some crackers to make sure we're all looking festive Oh and make sure you brush up on xmas songs/carols as there might also be a quiz

Sorry guys we aren't going to make it. We are now proud grandparents of Emily Samantha' she didn't like the weather so stayed put for an additional 8 days. We came down for cuddles yesterday and are not going to make it back.
Have a good run and a lovely evening. Christmas wishes to you all.
Hopefully there is a run out in January so we can remind you all what we look like.

Congratulations! I think the arrival of your first grandchild is about the best reason we've had for not making a meet so far - that'll take some beating Enjoy your cuddles and we'll catch up in the new year. We didn't get to the run this afternoon, we'll be over around 7pm armed with crackers, raffle prizes and Christmas quiz for a bit of fun.

Once again , another great Xmas do. Thanks to Jan & Andy for organising. Started the day with a good run to literally blow the cobwebs away including roof down driving. Thanks to Phil & Lesley. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Great night last night, thanks to everyone for bringing raffle prizes and for taking part in the quiz. Apart from John getting the supersized granny flat, how were everyone's rooms? I thought the room we were in for food was just about perfect for our party size so we may look at going back there again if it suited the majority? A few photos taken by Verity from today at Penderyn, and a couple from Andy and myself from last night -

Thanks to Jan from us and the penguins for organising a great night with good food and great company.
Since you've asked Jan, our room was not great. It was so small it was a struggle to move around the bed, and it was freezing cold, despite the radiator being on full blast. It was also noisy - the window rattled in its frame and there was a noise on the roof, which may have been a tree branch brushing on the roof tiles in the wind. Thankfully we both had ear plugs. Don't think it was so bad that it would stop us going again next year, as we turn up for the laughs and the chat, not the room - but SWMGF has been to much, much better places in the past.

Yeah the rooms weren't great. Our room wasn't cold but it was pretty much as Paul and Fran describe theirs. Our room was clean and whilst they had clearly done some redecoration and tiling, the edges and carpets and doors etc made it look untidy. It certainly needs a lot of money spent on it, but they are probably in a catch 22 situation of limited demand to make it pay back.. pity as the food and service was great and really friendly. I couldn't make up my mind about the beer which is why I had to keep trying it !! that is my excuse anyway. Glad we didn't have any extra guests turning up though www.glamorganparanormal.co.uk/the-rhymney-house-hotel.htm - maybe this explains the noises on the roof Paul! If I'd read this beforehand I don't know whether I'd have stayed.. Some nice photos from Penderyn yesterday, finishing off a really nice 24 hours spent with like minded friends. Thanks everyone.. wishing you all a merry Christmas and happy MGF'ing New Year. Phil .. and congratulations to Ken and Clara on the new arrival..

Thanks Jan & Andy we had a great time its always good to catchup with everyone and meet new people. The food and service was good and the staff we all very nice.
Thank to Phil and Lesley for the run great choice for the lunch stop and some really good roads.
Since you asked jan our room was cr@p, small and tatty the beds had passed there best about ten years ago and the top floor stank of soot. We also had a rattling window and banging on the roof. The car park wasn't great either a combination of fire pits ,potholes & rubbish.
Saying all of that we still had a great night and i drank so much I could have slept in a bus shelter.
Given the choice i would prefer to go back to last years venue ty newydd . It's just down the road 15-20 minutes and was very nice not alot more money per night but much better value.

Firstly thanks to everyone who pitched in on the organising side, I think we all apprieciate the amount of time and effort that goes into all of our runs and overnighters. Secondly did I tell anyone our room was HUGE !!! even though it was furnished in the 70's I think. However we have stayed in better £20 hotels in Blackpool. We can't fault the cleanliness or the staff's effort to make us feel welcome but you cannot polish a t*rd. Next xmas is a long time away so plenty of time for all of us to get our heads together and come up with several ideas of new/different venues. Lastly I hope everyone gets everything they want for xmas and that the New Year brings everyone happiness. Merry Xmas to you all.
