Thanks Phil, list updated It's looking like a busy night - I'd best get my thinking hat on for some kind of quiz and sort out some prizes. Shall we do Secret Santa? I was thinking of a £5 limit with everyone buying and wrapping something that would be suitable for either male or females, and then we can put them all into a 'lucky dip' type pile. 1. Jan 2. Andy 3. Andrew (room booked) 4. Cherie 5. Stavros 6. Elaine 7. Oz (room booked) 8. Lou 9. Phil (room booked) 10. Lesley 11. Paul (room booked) 12. Fran 13. Verity (room booked) 14. Crispin 15. Rob 16. Tina 17. Sharon 18. Paul 19. Clara (hopefully) 20. Ken (hopefully)

A raffle would be a good idea , helping to boost the funds for Shaun the Sheep.

yep we need a run first... our car is ready to roll, testing it on Sunday - it needs a damned good wash/clean after sitting in the garage for months.
Going to the NEC Classic Car Show on Saturday - anyone else going?

We're not stopping over at the hotel - do any of you who have booked a room know what time you can check into your rooms from? Just looking at the logistics of a run, neither Andy or I will be available early on the Saturday (he won't finish work after a nightshift til 9am on the Sat, and I have another Xmas Do on the Fri night and so won't be making an early start either...!) We can possibly look at a short run in the early afternoon, but it would need to take into account times for those who are staying at the hotel and those who aren't and who therefore may want to get home to change etc before the evening xmas party. Of course if someone else would like to lead a better run on the Saturday for those who do have more of the day to play with, we're more than happy to help out in any way we can with that

I booked with Hotels.com and it says on my booking that 1200hrs is the earliest we can book in. I think that is a little to early so that should give us plenty of time for a have decent run if we meet up at around 1200hrs. Any thoughts??? Any ideas on where a good run would be??

OK.. nobody has put their hand up so Lesley and I have a proposal regarding a run that we will lead.
All meet at the Rhymney House hotel, those who want to check in can, and leave at 12:45 / 13:00, driving to Llandrindod Wells via Llangynidr, Brecon, Lower Chapel and Builth Wells. Stop for late lunch at the Metropole Hotel (Lesley says they do great snacks and Panini's - she will call them tomorrow and check exactly what is available on a Saturday afternoon). That is a 48 miles - 90 minutes run.
After the stop, returning to Rhymney via Newbridge on Wye, Llangammach Wells, Tirabad, Eppynt Ranges, Sennybridge, Defynnog, Storey Arms, A470, A465 - approx. 56 miles - 90 minutes run.
So in total 104 miles, 3 hours driving with late lunch/coffee in Llandrindod - mostly on B roads and smaller A roads apart from the last few miles - when it will be getting dark anyway.
If we stop at Llandrindod for 45 to 60 mins we should be back at Rhymney before 17:00 hours - enough time to have a rest/chat etc in the lounge/bar before eating - with opportunities for those wanting to change.
Mileage and timing from Google Maps..so we may be quicker!
Thoughts

I'm glad you came up trumps because I was going to suggest a run to B&Q. (ask Oz) See you all at the hotel at 12ish.

Phil thank you for sorting a run, it's very much appreciated and sounds a lot better than anything we'd thought of. I'll post the details on Facebook as well so that any from there are aware of it.
I've had quite extensive and varied menus through from the hotel and they've asked if we can pre-order by next Tuesday. It's probably easier if I post a new thread with the menus to save it getting lost in here.
