Having recovered from my Stelvio trip, I thought that was it, what Diane and I had wanted to do. Now I'm feeling a bit more confident and am thinking of Spain, south of France, or possibly Speyer. We went to Speyer in 2007, and didn't really have time to go round the museum properly: speyer.technik-museum.de/en . It's easily reached in a day from Calais, and is really interesting. Also trips on the Rhine, Speyer city etc. Am I daft, does anyone else feel interested? The car was a dream in the Dolomites, what it was meant to do and has encouraged me to either do it again, or some of the above

It's not daft Jerry! Some of the best trips I've had in my F and TF's have been the European road trips. As you say, it's what they were built to do! If you're looking at such things, then don't forget the museum at Le Mans and the old circuit at Reims on the way through! If it floats your boat, include the historic racing at Angouleme - it's fascinating watching the old Bugattis and other historic racers mastering the street circuit. There's also the Col de Petit St Bernard pass, where the opening sequence of the original The Italian Job was filmed and, perhaps more to your liking, the Col du Turini - famous for it's use as a stage on the Monte Carlo rally.

It's definitely not a daft idea the french trip in the f was brilliant but for us to have any chance of doing a European tour in the tf it would have to be late in the year sep/oct as we have already booked jersey and Finland for 2015.

Not sure how we are fixed for next year yet. We have booked Jersey and looking to do a Rocky Mountains Run we are just waiting for details, once we know if that's happening then we will be in a better position to say because if that isn't happening we will be looking to do a European run.
