Yeah.. the camping might well be put on hold depending on the weather. I enjoy camping, but am most definitely a fair weather camper!

Part one is done, the roof is off and the fabric all stripped down. All ready for fitting the new hood in the morning. Decided to give myself a couple of days to get it done and not worry about having to rush it back on.
The car cover I bought is a bit pants though, have had to weigh it down with bricks and shut it in the boot to stop it blowing away.

I hope it's a bit drier there than it is here, hasn't stopped raining for about 3 days now! While you've got a naked frame, squirt a bit of light spray grease onto all the pivot joints, it makes a massive difference in keeping it raising/lowering smoothly. And don't forget to post a couple of pics of the new hood when you've got it finished

I'm all but done now, decided to put the frame and hood back on the car to see how it all lined up. Looks great just need to glue it in place along the front, but apparently it's going to be dry Monday so will leave the hood on the dad till then. Will either glue it on the car or take it off.
As for fitting it, was all pretty straight forward, but getting some of the rivets to match in the rIght place was a struggle at times, luckily my friend was on hand to help get things done. Would have been completely lost without him.
Also the edge between the back of the hood and the boot deck is a bit more apparent, so wouldn't mind getting hold of some of the foam stuff that was on the old hood. Overall though I'm chuffed to bits.
Will get some pictures up a little later.

Here's the hood as it is now. The front still needs gluing, but I'm going to wait for it to be a little drier on Monday hopefully. Didn't want to leave the car hoodless much longer as the car cover I was using kept setting the alarm off. Plus this way, if any problems arise between now and Monday I can sort them out.

Thanks Rainbow Have fitted the chrome deck finishers today, the pictures also show the gap between the new hood and the rear deck. I haven't bolted the hood back down completely with the t-bar back on and everything yet, so maybe it's this causing the little gap. Or maybe it's just more noticeable with the new rivets. Will be finishing everything off on Monday if the weather is dry enough, so will fettle and fiddle a bit more then.

Finished gluing the hood this morning so it's all bolted on completely now, the gap between the hood and the rear deck is now back to normal, and I am really pleased with how the hood looks, now to move on to the next job...

That looks great Definitely worth the time and effort. Glad you got some decent weather to finish it off. What's next on the list? Paintwork or something else?

It's a long list, mostly of mods I want to make to the car, but a few things really need doing, like the paintwork. Will likely get a quote and go from there, may need to wait for a bit more money to build up. So maybe I will do a couple of the cheaper easy (ish) jobs I want to do in the mean time. I have a load of blue LED's I've been waiting to fit for a long time, might have a crack at that if the weather improves next week, and if I'm doing that I may as well fit the switch for the heated rear window while I'm at it.
