I've consulted my events guru (ie. Chris Hathway who's memory is far better than mine!) and we met up at 10.30 last year to allow the worst of the queuing traffic to enter the park first. I'm waiting to hear back from the Riverside as to what time they open - the website says 12:00 on Sundays. but I've emailed to ask if they might open at 10:00 and serve tea/coffee. If they don't/can't open, then perhaps the campsite would be ok as Phil suggested. I'll update and make a proper decision when I've heard back from The Riverside

We are in for a meet at Magor services- if it takes 90 mins I suggest meeting at 8.45 to leave by 9. Subject to revision once Jan confirms meet.
Just so we know who we are waiting for thought it best to start a list:
Ken & Clara - Possibly in 2 cars, Ken might be bringing the midget out for a blast. Signal & Elaine Phil

I've heard back from the pub and they won't open at 10 for us But they said there's a cafe right next door to the pub that will be open and we're welcome to use the pub car park So, if you leaving Magor at around 9am, we'll meet somewhere around 10.15 or thereabouts at The Riverside Cafe, Lechlade, GL7 3AQ, with a view to leaving around 10.30/45. That leaves time for a quick coffee & toilet stop and hopefully the worst of the queues to have already entered the park. So, final plan: leaving Magor Services M4 Junc 23a at 9.00am, then leaving Lechlade GL7 3AQ at about 10.45

We're still on for meeting at Magor Services - less than 40mins from here. Definitely not camping - we filled the BMW X1 and the Imp to go to Holland over the weekend! We now have a reputation for Glamour Camping!. Was worth it though.

Hi,
Alice and I will be there, but we'll be staying over in Oxford the night before (parental duty calls). If he's up to it, my 80 year old father will be driving his Tahiti blue VVC (the first MGF I owned). I'm picking up some stuff from College Motors (Burford) - aka total-rover on eBay - who will be there, to save the postage . Sure lots more there too... Hope the weather holds for you camping types

Just checked the name of the cafe to meet at on Sunday, and it's actually called The Tea Chest. But it's right by the Riverside pub, and postcode for sat nav was correct as GL7 3AQ.

Weather hasn't been too bad at all, hoping for more sun tomorrow. See you in the morning - btw the cafe don't do traditional breakfast, more toasties and sandwiches. But they do coffee etc

Thanks to all that came- it was a fab day. The only problem was finding the time to see everything and speak to everyone.
Nice to meet Phil and Lesley and hopefully your encounter with our Lincolnshire friends didn't put you off and we will see you both soon
It was nice to see John and Elaine again too. Geoff has confirmed that the table booking for the Saturday night at Harrogate has been extended to 10

We enjoyed our day out, so many cars and new people.. Thanks for making us welcome, it's always difficult for your first visists/events. Have to admit we took a wrong turning on the way home - following Clara & Ken - saw them nip down the side of the queue at a roundabout, so followed, only for them to turn into the pub/restaurant!. D'oh, must follow instructions not cars! never mind, showed the Mini Cooper on the roundabout who's boss..
cheers Phil

John - the trouble is it is a 'marmite car' and if judge is a purist he will hate it, that together with such low mileage people think it is not used. But 1200 in 6 weeks tells a different story. We get a lot of pleasure just showing the cars and that is what matters. Ha ha Phil- that did make us chuckle! The Air Balloon is a favourite haunt of ours when travelling back cross country

Great day out as always at this, the only problem for me is too may people and too little time! I never seem to catch up with everyone even though I spot a lot from a distance, they've moved on by the time I get to where I saw them.. We got lucky with the weather for the weekend of camping, not even a spot of rain until I was almost at the Severn Bridge on the way home yesterday
