Hi guys, I have taken the plunge into the murky waters of the MGF. Bought an MY2000 Steppy the other day. Needs a bit of cosmetic work but the previous owners seem to have kept it mechanically sound. I am collecting the car on Friday, so will take some piccys then. Does anyone know a decent garage who actually understands these machines? I would like to make sure everything is tickety boo. ps how do i post piccies?

And please feel free to join us on a run or a pub meet. The next run is on Sunday across to the Cotswolds and the next pub meet will be announced soon.

Hi, and to SWMGF. I'm across the water, so will have to leave others to make any recommendations on garages and mechanics local to you, but to answer your question re pics..... You need to host any pictures you want to post on a proprietary hosting site such as Photobucket or Flickr etc. Once done, that site will give you details of the link to the image which will likely be in the form eg http:// i1288.photobucket.com / albums / b483 / theswmgf / smilies / welcome_zps3e8ba3f2.gif (This is the url of the welcome smilie I used above. I've had to insert spaces to get it to display as text). In your post use the syntax [ img ] insert_the_url_of_the_pic_here [ /img ] (again, without spaces) and the pic will display. Hope that helps.

I've taken the liberty of adding your pic link as your avatar - it seems to work fine although the proportions seem a bit squashed(!) as avatars are restricted to 100 x 100 pixels You might want to consider re-sizing your pic to match this and then update your profile accordingly?

Hi Mike, Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that! I am a bit of a techno luddite to be honest.(smash all computers!) My son is a whiz on computers though, so I will get him to do it for me later. These computermajigs didn't exist when I was young but my son had his own pc from 3 years and could program at 8, so I will leave it up to him. My idea of technology is a box of matches.

I have also found out my car used to be a member of the mgoc and lived in aberfan.
Who's car have I bought (and why did they sell it?)
It has the, apparently, very rare WDA trim, which is cream and red leather seats, black and alu doors.
Someone must know it.
It was very rusty but I had it resprayed.

Greetings,
Newbie MGF owner from Rhydyfelin (the Ponty not Aber one)! MY2000 Wedgewood SE. Just been to collect her from Longlife where she's had a new Cat back stainless system, now purrs and rasps nicely. New brake discs and pads all round plus one caliper replaced. New front tyres and tracking done. So steers and stops now as originally intended. Lovely condition and a hoot to drive!. Willl get some pics up asap and looking forward to catching a meet/run soon.
Cheers,
Gary
