Since i have bought my MGF.. Which was about 5 months ago now... I have used shell v power every single time.. Is it worth using it all the time as some people tell me just use V power now and again?

I've used it a couple of times, and found no difference at all. I cant help thinking it's just a sales gimmick!

The F/TF is unable to advance the ignition settings to take full advantage of higher octane fuels (typically 98RON or higher) such as Shell VPower, Total Excellium or the BP equivalent (whose name escapes me at the moment ). VPower however, rather than Excelium etc, is renowned for it's cleaning additives and I have run it in all my cars from the old F, through the ZS and TF to the current F. In any case, the Cupra has a minimum requirement of 98RON, so it's a must for that. As above, the F/TF cannot make use of the higher octane, but I'm impressed with the *sparkle* it give the cars, performance-wise, and when the heads were off both the F and TF they were spotless Higher octane fuels are also supposed to help with fuel economy, but I have nothing to compare mine with! So, although I use it all the time I suppose my personal thoughts for the majority of owners would be a fill up every second or third tankful just to help keep everything in tip top order

When I took my head off, it was spotless as well, and it normally runs on Tesco 95 The reason 98 RON is not really useful, is the K series has no knock sensor, and thus can't take advantage of any extra ignition advance. Yes, it may have cleaning additives and possibly a cleaner burn, but basically wasted.
