The headlights on my TF dont come on straight away when they are switched on. This always happens in cold weather, any other time of year they work fine. It was parked at work tonight, and it took about 30 seconds before they came on ( dipped beam that is, main beam works OK). Could it be a relay sticking? ( electrics are NOT my strong point!).

This is pure speculation, but if it only ever happens when it's cold, it sounds almost as if when the temperature drops and materials contract, that a high resistance joint/contact/connector is being formed. I think that the only way you're likely to resolve it is with a multimeter working from switch down the circuit and then cleaning or remaking as necessary. It might be worth taking it to an auto electrician, but unless you're quick he might have to wait until next winter

As above, electrical jobs are logical tracing back from supply feed to final earthing point. Does sound like a lazy switch contact though. I've had to clean them with spray, although you can't beat taking apart, cleaning and lubing with silicon grease

Exactly the same happens with my wiper motor, not sure if its the motor end or the wiper stalk end have lubed the motor and all the linkage and conectors will have to wait till I have the steering wheel off to do the stalk.
