My Audi had to be recovered again today and taken into Sinclairs in Bridgend. Oil Pressure warning flashing red. Only done 110,000 miles! So much for German reliability Hopefully , find out tomorrow the cause. Only had complete emmissions bits including Turbo , Cat , DPF and Exhaust system replaced at the end of October. May be time to return to Jaguar.

When DPF blocked and everything went bang , the bill was over £6500. Fortunately , Audi contributed 85% because it was only a couple of months outside of warranty. With the mileage I do and type of driving the DPF should never have blocked. I've read some horror stories with problems on clearing the DPF since. Especially on Mazda 6 diesel.Diesel cars really require plenty of motorway cruising miles to be cleared efficiently. My A6 seems to have been the exception Correct oil always used , car serviced by Audi Sinclair smack on service intervals. I live in the car , it's my office. Work on the theory that if I look after it , it will look after me. Now tempted to go for a modern , efficient petrol engine in future.

Lots of horror stories with lots of marques about DPF's - including a well documented story about BMW (I think) having to take back a number of diesels sold to older customers who only wanted a car to do the shopping in. They were replaced with petrol variants.

Still no call from Audi regarding Oil Pressure fault. Not even in the hands of a Technician yet. Don't think I'll hear anything until Monday!

Oil Pump & Balance Shaft assembly failure! Can buy a good Tf for cost of repair!!! Never mind , the good news is , I've been using the TF for the last 2 days for work. Over 400 miles covered in dreadful weather conditions on motorways etc. Thoroughly enjoyed myself , looking forward to work tomorrow. It has been quiet on this forum in 2012 but have noticed lack of F/TF's on the roads , as well. Is there something I should know?
