Apart from my head gasket going very gently, nothing had gone wrong with my car from 2004 - until last night The SRS light came on for no apparent reason

Had this on both cars at one time or another Jerry.
As Pete says (or, being pedantic, points to), check the pretensioner connectors under the seats. A bit of cleaning up and slight movement of the pins to ensure good contact sorted it in both cases for me.

Just testing to see if you're awake out there I can't be bothered to start fiddling around, it might go as quick as it came How to, just one of my favourite hates, along with: the way forward, deliver, issues, etc ;D ps, sorry about that Pete, but my interwebby connection went and I tried to back track to save the post. The connection goes funny in cold wet weather - it must be that old BT copper cable/junction boxes to the local exchange.

Ring BT and ask them to test your line Jerry, tell them your having intermittent internet line probem, if i was still with BT and had my van, ladder all my kit i could have sorted it for you ;D and poss even spray your distribution box outside on pole or eaves with BT equivalent of WD40, Spray 10A i think BT code was a moisture displacement/conductor spray ;D but in reality fault could be anywhere even inside house, Dave

For what it's worth' we had big problems with our internet connection Gerry. I blamed TalkTalk and they kept blaming something in our house after BT sent an engineer around only to find nothing wrong with the line. Don't you just love those Indian call centres. I kept hearing noise on the line which caused our broadband connection to drop off, it was bad when it rained and I was getting nowhere with them. What I discovered after some investigation is that the old BT cables needs only a poor connection to cause all sorts of problems and what I had to do was to improve the broad band connections around the house to make the best of what is often a poor signal. I replaced the BT master socket with one which gave a separate ADSL connection like this one www.clarity.it/xcart/home.php?cat=262 Next I bought some Home Plugs from Solwise www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline-av-index.htm These send your broadband signal around the house via the ring main. I've no idea how it works, but it does. It's akin to Black Magic I think. So far out broadband has been faultless, I can even get a great picture with the BBC iPlayer now on our Freesat box. Cols

Good new all round Jerry. Just one thing, you can switch off the home plugs at night, but I found they don't always talk to one another when you switch then on again next day. They do go into a sleep mode so I leave them on all the time now. I don't know if you looked up other homeplugs on line before buying the Solwise ones but they function like the DEVOLO DELAN plugs which you can buy in PC World and Currys but they are faster and cheaper.
