Help! MG TF 160 VVC Anyone know of a good repairer that could sort HGF in the Witshire area. Having said that for good recommendations and good price I would be prepared to trailer the car.

Several on here, and plenty on other forums would recommend Russell from MG Rover Solutions, who incidentally offers a 10% discount to SWMGF members. Russell is a mobile mechanic and will travel to you, so no worry about having to trailer the car. I've no first hand experience, but check out his website here: www.mgroversolutions.com/...but be aware he is usually quite booked up in advance!

Mike H, Thanks for the recommendation. I have just spoken to Russell and he is doing the head gasket, cambelts and water pump on my VVC next Wednesday. All for a lot less than local garages were quoting me and with discount for being SWMGF member. As long as he lives up to his testimonials, and I have no doubt that he will, I am as they 'well happy'. Thanks to all at SWMGF for tips and advice even if you don't know you given it. :-)

Just to let you all know, Russell from MG Rover solutions (and his son James) came down to me the Wednesday before Xmas and I'm all fixed up and back on the road. Fantastic service at a really good price. Arrived at 8.00am, car was stripped, cleaned and prepped ready for reassembly by10.00 and he was in his van leaving by 11.30. Head gasket, cam belt, VVC belt and water pump in 3 1/2 hrs. Horrifying to watch your pride and joy coming apart at such speed, but he knows every nut and bolt and I'm happy to say it's back on the road and running a treat. Just to note, the new multi layer steel head gasket is completely different to what was fitted in Nov 2007 for the previous HGF (single layer with beefed up silicone seal bits). Anyway, thanks again for the tip and I also would thoroughly reccommend him to anyone needing F or TF repairs.
