1.6 turbo, 330 bhp +/- The brakes were glowing red hot as were the twin exhausts - I think the drop off was all due to braking. Don't forget they have a six speed sequential gearbox and left foot braking. Did you see a little SJ before they got to the bottom of the hill? I'm on the start line tomorrow with M Sport The Prodrive boss, Dave Richards flew in as well for a spot on BBC Wales and Ralio - unfortunately I was otherwise engaged and not available for interview

We've not been on www.swmgf much lately due to family things taking up time, both the SJ and the MG went through MoTs earlier this year with little prep, and now I've been asked if I can run the Celtic Manor Resort stage on WRGB 2012 . It's very demanding, so we'll be very busy until mid September, then I can calm down and do some stuff to the TF

You only posted this to wind me up didn't you Jerry So this year it's ten weeks earlier than it should be! And on the 80th anniversary of the event I can pay £130 for a Gold Pass... One serious question though - did the furore earlier in the year about the TV rights and financing ever get resolved? Was a new deal ever signed?

Subsequent to the above, I've just heard that Red Bull, ie the owner of two formula one teams, is poised to take over the running of the WRC. (I find this interesting as Red Bull already sponsors rally drivers and the Citroen team ). I'm not really sure why the governing body terminated its contract with North One Sport earlier in the year? At the time, Convers Sports Initiatives, a conglomerate headed by Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov, stepped in, but the company subsequently collapsed, with Antonov suspected of fraud Separately, I also understand that Toyota has confirmed its return to rallying! Not with a hybrid, but the 1.33l petrol-engined, three-door TMG Yaris R1A

Also, looks like another three years of WRGB might be on the cards - Wales needs the money

How sad. Heard today (and only what I've heard on the grapevine), that Wales Rally GB, one of our greatest motorsport events, has only got 30 cars entered this year. The previous lowest was 64! Not good

maybe a combination of recession and the ridiculous cost of competing at that level. But 30 cars is hardly worth the effort (will it cover the running costs ??), at this rate it'll be a 12 car rally next year !!

It's not about motorsport - just money changing hands
