Dave, Did you notice a difference between your speedo reading and the RA reading ?
I ask because one of the other committee members trying out his daughters boyfriends TomTom 300(because it was round his house) you know who I mean, noticed that at 90 the SatNav was reading 83.
I appreciate cars are allowed 10% difference in the speedo readings from accurate, so it does just. Therefore if we are in a 70 limit behaving ourselves, as we do, we could be doing, using this as a guide, about 64 ! Following on it makes the cars top speed higher than it actually is and the mpg and servicing figures a tad inaccurate.
To question which is the more accurate I believe the satnav will be because of the positioning system it uses and having done the route for a recent road run where the distance on the first half was 0.3 out between Dawns car and mine, but 4.4 miles out when another F was used (this was over 43 miles).
Any ideas ?

On my alternative car, I've got GPS mapping for ordnance survey detail, and a calibrated rally trip meter. On a recent trip to north Wales form south Wales, the GPS and rally trip meter were 0.5 mile difference. The odometer on the car was about 10% out on this basis. Both the trip meter and GPS show speed, I use them rather than the speedo for cameras etc. Police smile when you overtake them, as they try to catch people by cruising just below what you think is the legal speed limit. This is why long queues build up on motorways behind police vehicles. You just need the confidence to trust the kit, and exchange smiles when you pass them ;D

Absolutely right Jerry, yes Adrian the gps is highly accurate at speed reading at constant speed as unit is updated every second (stop start for 50 mtrs or so accelerating and decelerating unit may lag behind the actual reading by very small margin, the reading will vary car to car even tyre tread and pressure comes into it, so your comment prob right your are doing perhaps 64mph in your F when you think you are doing 70 ;D no bad thing though if you think of it, i just might try what Jerry says next time im'e behind cop car doing 65 om motorway and take him at 70 ha ha ;D ;D ;D

The other thing the rally trip meter has is an average speed reading. The highest I have got to is 46 mph over a two hour journey, normally in the low 30's on A roads. Sitting at lights, and the speed just drops away. I might work out how to fit it to the TF, but it is more complicated. On my 4x4, the sensor takes impulse readings off one of the prop shaft U/J bolts (I've got 3 prop shafts!) On the TF, I would need an electronic interface, which might interfere with MEMS3. So I might give this a miss unfortunately

/Nice one Matt, re navigator have you also the little hand lazer alert coming as well? re wiring don't forget don cut ends off to hard wire, it says in booklet not to as have special plugs on end on wire as go to 5v and if hard wire yo u can damage unit, i bought another lighter socket wired that in, then bought a double female socket to plug into that and put all under fuse cover under steering wheel, with a bit of a fiddle it all went up and hid in there and works a treat, bought those 2 parts from Halfords, Dave
