Hi Grant. I was always asked if it was a lotus, It was a bit light on the front end at speed, thats one of the things that stick in my mind about it. Steve (Guvs)

OMG Looks like I'll have to scan a few pics in then 1st car was an Austin A35, which was modded with Sprite engine/gearbox, Sprite front disc brakes and proper rear brakes. No hub caps, number plate stuck on the bodywork near the grill, matching single fog light, reversing light matching the filler cap - as raced by Graham Hill Rallied but not raced. Very boy racer for it's time. Still got the front number plate off the front in the shed That was totalled up the rear in north Wales, followed by a Triumph Herald fixed head coupe in blue/white. The chassis split in two after a bit of fast driving on an event 1200 Beetle, followed by a 1300 with adjustable main jet and s/s megaphone exhaust (to make it go faster ;D) 1800 Marina TC Coupe with oil cooler off a BGT 1.6 Cavalier in white which looked like a police car. Then loads of company cars from Montego diesel estates to Rover 400 SDLi, then Ford Focus diesels. Oh, and built a Mini for my son from bits, MG1100 engine, big single SU carb, Metro 4 pot front disc brakes, Cooper rear drums, had a £30 Honda 600cc shed and another Mini. Then son had a Metro 1.4 GTA I sorted out. Then Suzuki SJ 413, and the rest is all downhill and history

Looks like I'll have to scan a few pics in then Oh, and built a Mini for my son from bits, MG1100 engine. Like Jerry, I'll have to dig some of the old pics and scan them - won't have much time 'til end of next week though, so watch this space... First cars were a series of Mini's culminating in a blue/white machine which had various engine, brake and supension set ups. All the engines were home built, and like Jerry I went through the MG1100 route. The problem was/is that it's a very long stroke engine and didn't rev easily or highly enough for the Mini. The MG head (double valve spring etc - Number VG295???), though, coupled with a 998 block, decent road cam (can't remember the number but have it somewhere) with duplex timing gear, S discs on the front and much more including 4 large Cibie lamps on a lamp bar at the front made it a real flyer Went through a MkI GT Escort and again like Jerry (spooky eh? ) a 1800 Marina TC Coupe. Ended up rebuilding the engine after my ex blew a hole in one of the pistons . I still have the offending article in a tea chest somewhere ;D ;D ;D A series of company cars follwed - Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 and Mk5 Ford Cortinas, Ford Sierras in various guises and a couple of Rover 400's - which is where I first came upon the K Series, and marvelled at what a wonderful engine it was . And the rest, as they say, is history.....

first car was a ford capri 2.0S, then proceeded to go through most of the ford sporty range including a RS TURBO escort and two capri 2.8i's, i then had a 911sc targa which we sold when my ex wife became pregnant (if i found out who dunnit i'l kill him lol) in an attempt to be sensible we ordered a brand new susuki swift GTi but changed our minds and bought a nissan 200SX (fantastic car kept it for 8yrs) next i had a diesel mondeo as i was doing alot of mileage with work. Then came a BMW 325Ci (fantastic straight six engine) and then came freddie the frog (without doubt the car i've had the most fun with). I now have the use of bev's audi TT convertible which is a great car but given the choice (every weekend) i almost always choose to take freddie
