Hi, bought this car after my ZS180 Phase 2 drowned (council not unblocking drains on their roads and i didnt notice how deep the water was lol). I wanted to stay in the MG Rover community and have been a member of sw-mgr.co.uk and .org for a while now, i thought its only the right thing to join the sw-mgf as well.
So, Heres me. My name is kyle jones, im 25 at the end of this month, i live in birchgrove, swansea, and i work for a company within BT. If you want to know any more ask me or add me on facebook lol. Im addicted to that site!
Anyway, some pictures of the car and a small list of what ive done. Then a long list of what i want to do! :-)
So far:
1. Removed wind stop (i have short hair and i dont mind feeling the wind in it!)
2. Changed induction kit for a universal cone filter, fitted on a set of chrome pipes and pointed down towards the side vents, which have been modified to actualy drag air into the engine compartment.
3. As above mentioned, made side vents that cup the air into the engine bay. The original side vents are not actualy vents, and thus do not help in the cooling of the engine..
4. Added a seat leon cupra r front splitter as recomended on the .org which helps handling a bit and looks nice too.
5. added an alpine sub behind passenger seat and JBL speakers in the t bar. Better sound quality :-)
6. Used nail polish remover on my front badge to make it look more chrome. It was not looking too clever, flaky and discoloured.
7. Fitted hood lockup straps as it was a ten minute affair trying to lower the hood without ripping it to shreds. Must say, this is a must have item if your hood is locking up!
Anyway, boring bit over, heres some nice piccies!
At one of the sw-mgr meets
My Mg with my BMW which is currently on ebay
Front splitter fitted!
Side vents modified
Induction kit going down to side vents
Added subwoofer behind passenger
And finaly, me posing.
lol
Right. Things to come. Im not sure if anyone out there can either help me out with this, or tell me why its a bad idea, but, id like to further help the cooling of the car by fitting a bonnet vent, and cutting the front spare wheel bay as to let the air pass through the radiator and up through the bonnet. Thus creating downforce and cooling benefits. Downforce increase on the front would be counteracted by a lip spoiler on the rear.
Maybe something like this?
another angle.. my photoshopping is getting beter :-)
Speaking of the rear, id also like to change the rear vent. I thought it was there to let heat out of the engine. But after putting a ribbon on it and driving the car, it seems that wind travels over the roof of the car, and then forces air into this vent. So where does the engines hot air go? It has nowhere to escape apart from the bottom.. So, by fitting a vent like the one below, i think it would have a more of a vaccum effect to the engine air and would draw hot air from the engine and back over the boot spoiler.
Id use a vent like this.
And it would probably look something like this
And if i never stop, one day, my tf will look like this. (photoshopping geting pretty good now lol)
Anyway, im going to keep this thread short.... Lol. 56K i warn you. oops too late. Good thing somoene invented broadband eh!
But before i go, id like to pay respects to my beloved ZED... God rest her soul..
Thanks for looking. Any suggestions etc please let me know. Thanks.
