Ordered a Skoda Yeti at Goodwood/ Cardiff dealer as a replacement for Di's faithful Rover 25 diesel. Didn't realise it had rave reviews until we started looking around We've ordered the 4x4 version, full underbody protection kit, tow bar etc so I'll be able to borrow it for radio car duties on stage rallies - if I'm good. The SJ will be preserved for being hammered in the rough stuff Can't wait for the 12/13 weeks for Skoda to handbuild a car for us at DPM.

The user manual has 255 pages - I've got to page 65 and gone mad If it ever breaks down I'll be lost - no more fixing with a hammer.

Up to page 135 Skoda do models of Yetis - I think I need one for my birthday We (Di) have a name for it, eyeing up some graphics of a snowy monster paw print for a vinyl stick-on, been round to the dealers twice already asking if the wheels have come yet - no luck There's a long waiting list, and we have ordered a particular specification that might make us wait longer

Di popped into Skoda Cardiff today and was told it's on the production line at the moment I know they're shut for two weeks over Xmas, but Di was told might be first week of the new year Hopefully before her birthday It'll have to have a PDI at DPM first, but after a rail transporter journey, ship ferry, then another transporter to Cardiff it'll need lots of TLC before it hits the streets of Dinas Powys Hopefully it'll look like this: The underbody protection kit is this: Before doing a bit of this: Tomtom image already on ;D:

On the line last week, but the factory is shut for two weeks over Christmas. We don't know if Betty escaped in time and is on the train: en-route to Emden. Then it's ship and car transporter to Cardiff. We just hope Betty will not be too cold if left out overnight - thinking about it, she's going to be left out all night for the rest of her life Vague promise of the first week of Jan in Cardiff

Do you know, I hadn't thought of that - it might be useful having 4x4 as well I wonder if Di has worked that out yet
