There is a pub that used to be called "The Dog At Over" which has a large car park which might also offer refreshments and pee break for those travelling a distance. have'nt been down that neck of the woods for a while don't even know if it's still open! will check it out this w/end and come back to you with full s.p. Do you know what sort of time we are likely to meet up? noticed i got left of list.

2nd I/C, is Al coming for deffo? Start time is dependent on her arrival If Al is not coming, we can start a bit earlier ;D PS: by the time this rolls round, RL might be around to take control

I'm coming up the old A48 from Chepstow for the scenery, I guess any other S Walers might too. I had identified that pub on the map as a possible meet point, I didn't really want to get involved in crossing the bridge and traversing the Gloucester ring road Gary, could you check out the car park if at all possible as I'm not doing any sort of recce. It's all been done by remote control We'll be going back down the A48 someway, anywhere else and you'll have to turn up on the day to find out ;D Al will have a long journey, and it seems she has an assignation the night before, so we don't want to strain the limits of her Tom-Tom Start time could be amended to set off by 10.00 latest if no Al. We could use this run as recce for a "proper RL version" next summer?

WC Fi the Awesome Googler can report that the "Dog at Over" is now called "The Toby Carvery at Highnam". Alledgedly.

Just got back from reccie and pub is as Fi says. car park is plenty big enough for us. Alternative could be highnam wood car park which is along A40 towards Ross from roundabout approx a mile, sighposted, on right. Am guessing Fi & The PINK one will come up M5 to J12. We could meet at Waterwells, say 9.45am, then meet techie, floozy & others 10.00ish.

I can be at Glos for 10am [did I really say that?] but you will have to take the Pup in all its glory (full mud splatters) OK, we have a goer then ;D Dirt is no problem, either on your car or on this forum Leave start point at 10.05 I'm drawn towards the wood car park, as the pub's private land, and without prior permission, might not like it. Gary, is this wood car park thing on a dual carriageway, and is it easily accessable? Leave the rest to me, the meal might be in Ross by the river. As I've only been in for a drink and a meeting, I don't know what the food, if any, is like, but I have a friend in Ross who can make enquiries. I think we might have to take pot luck with lunch, in the absence of a tasting recce, if that is Ok with you all. Or bring our own and have a picnic? Or both? More to follow nearer the time. 2nd I/C, any more recruits yet?
