[ goin off the rate of Learning about cars Jans doing right now you might end up fitting yours, then going to Jans so she can tell you where you went wrong ;D Haha, I've not learnt that much yet, I can still only follow instructions, wouldn't have a clue where to start diagnosing stuff

ok i've measured the spoiler! this is just a personal preference for me as to where i placed it, you can place it wherever you want, but i knew where i wanted it and i certainly didn't want it hanging over the edge nor did i want it too far forward on the boot lid! anyway here's how mines placed! as you can see it's placed perfectly in line with the boot lid, some people prefer it slightly back so it follows the curve upwards a little more but i tried it there and it doesn't look right imo, it's way too far back and hangs over. i wanted mine to curve round identical or as near as the boot curves around from side to side The support legs lie just on the edge of the boot crease and tend to sit quite well, just about Measuring from the base of the support leg backwards and running along the crease of the boot so you should be able to get a similar measurement as you can just about see it measures about 1mm-2mm short of 18.5in you must make sure and be certain you don't hit the underneath support of the boot, it does just about fit and you are able to get a nut on the end although i did chop the bolts down to neaten it up a tiny bit and also to get that slightly awkward one in to fit properly to get the nut on. i also plated the underneath and put a small washer on the other once you know it fit's perfect, i put a tiny piece of rubber film under the legs and siliconed all around the bolts etc with clear silicone sealant. you do get a little leeway when it comes to positioning the spoiler so you can go oversize on the drill hole so you have room to play with it and twist it around, I think if i remember rightly there was about 1 cm either side for adjustment if needed. the finished fully fitted spoiler. Hope this helps you both out the positioning is quite important, well i think so anyway cos as Jan says it can look wrong and actually put you off the spoiler which was Jans case. after seeing mine though it seems she now quite likes them so i guess the position is important for me this is the best spoiler i've ever seen on any TF and really makes a massive difference to the appearance, i really believe it suits the TF far more than the F too due to it's creases like the TF has and the F hasn't. anyway good Luck

Cheers for the pics and measurements Ste I'm sure it'll be one of those things that is actually easier to figure once you have the spoiler in your hand to play with the placement of it. I'm sure I'll be back to ask more measurements etc once I've got it and had it all sprayed up. Just need to find a local bodyshop now, I think there's a guy Andy works with who does spraying so waiting for him to get in touch to find out prices and times etc. Can't wait for it now

went to bodyshop this morning, the guy says he wants to see the spoiler first to check the quality but the guide price is £70 which i will be happy to pay, with the baking oven he says he can do it in a day and that's sourcing the paint. one bit of advice he gave me was to fit the spoiler first, i.e drill the holes etc then bring it to him to spray so avoiding the chance of damaging the finished paintwork while fiddling with it so if everything goes to plan i will fit it next wkend then get the spoiler sprayed on the monday and final fit monday evening.

yeah £70 is what i paid and it was baked in the oven too tbh i was a little concerned about fitting mine the same day but i had to get it done that day as it was mgfest next day and i wanted it on. i was a little concerned about smudging the paint and getting a fingerprint on it but it was set solid cos it was handled alot......probably a good idea to fit it 1st then take it down...just hope he sprays it the day you fit it though otherwise it's tape over the holes job

btw forgot to say thank you for the excellent pics and how to, i feel far more confident especially in the positioning as i hadn't really thought about it and would have hated to fit it and think oh no i don't like it there. i love yours i think you've got it bang on so will be following your instructions to the t. if i'm not happy the paint is dry i will put car in the garage, well half of it lmao i really must tidy up

No problem hope it helps tbh i worried about placement too and asked for pics and viewed as many as possible in pics and real life and i'll be honest i didn't see one car that i thought was right. some came close to where mine is but i thought for the extra cm or so they where out it seemed not much thought had gone into it and just thrown on tbh. i have seen a few others since though that are in the same place i'm sure you'll both do a fine job of them anyway ;D

I was gonna ask you guys about this today too. I really can't remember how long mine took tbh but i'm sure you'll get it any day soon, the guys quite a decent guy i met him. I know what ya mean though when you have something planned and can't wait to get it on, I had to wait about 7 weeks for my nos to arrive due to poor management at the store i got it.
